Press release, 19th Nov 07, Bangalore: 1st and 2nd December will see the city flavour one of the finest genres of music – Jazz & blues. Black Dog Jazz series is presenting Radio Indigo’s Indigo & Blues International Jazz & blues Festival. Spread over 2 days the festival will bring to Bangalore some of the best jazz bands – Indian and International to perform in the city, making it the biggest ever Jazz & blues festival the country has seen. The 2 day festival is being held at the sprawling heritage lawns of Jayamahal Palace Hotel, behind the Cantonment Station. Black Dog is a premium lifestyle brand that is “Proudly Old-Fashioned. Since1883”. And the practice of getting together in the evenings for a good jazz music over some good scotch to unwind & relax, is a ‘tradition’ that will probably never go out of fashion! Indigo & Blues International Jazz and blues festival is the beginning of a series of festivals in the years to come. The festival will see a host of bands perform - Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore, the cultural partner is bringing down the German jazz band Café du Sport. Amit Heri Group, Gerard Machado Network, Junct from Mumbai, Global Unity from Mumbai, Moon Arra, Barracuda Blues Band, the Kaya Quartet, Chronic Blues band and Matt Littlewood trio from Auroville, Pondicherry will perform. Bob Bonastre from France will team up with well-known artiste Konarak Reddy. Radio Indigo has been at the forefront of ushering in jazz and blues in Bangalore – on radio, the 3-hour weekend show Indigo & Blues hosted by Radha Thomas and producing single jazz events over the years featuring international acts. With ‘Indigo & blues International Jazz & blues festival’, jazz & blues will get its fitting tribute. |
